So, I am down to the single digits now. 9 weeks to go and I feel as if I am busting at the seams. I have to take a nap every day now if I want to function at all during the evening. I can’t say I mind naps, and I am sure it’s the majority of the type of sleep I will be getting in just a few shorts months, but I would rather just have energy! I can’t complain though, I feel like I have been really lucky throughout the 2nd and 3rd trimesters so far. Elzie is healthy, I am healthy and Jon is really hanging in there through all the moans and groans of a pregnant partner!

We did a little photo shoot this evening of the 31 week crazy belly. We lost lighting and none of the front shots that really show HOW HUGE I am getting turned out. Here is what did turn out. We plan on taking another batch tomorrow while Shelly and Rowan are here. Enjoy!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to be showered again with gifts and love! My aunt Sandy organized a “surprise” baby shower for me out in Pottstown. I knew about it but knew none of the details. Jon and I arrived at my parent’s house at noon on Saturday. I was blindfolded and put in the car and told not to ask any questions….I believe this was some sort of revenge for the way in which we told my parents I was pregnant (video to come soon of that, I promise). Needless to say, the ride from Wayne to Pottstown (about 45 minutes) was almost unbearable being blindfolded. I stuck it out though and lasted the whole way without being able to see. My mom led me into the restaurant and apparently it was the most hilarious spectacle. I wish I could have been an outsider looking in instead of being the idiot who was blindfolded!

I honestly can’t believe that I am 30 weeks pregnant. I also can’t believe how difficult it has become to sleep, bend over, climb stairs, breath, and make it through the day without being shocked at how quickly the belly is growing. Jon has been so wonderfully supportive and understanding over the past few weeks as simple tasks have just gotten a lot harder for me. Rolling over in bed is one of my most difficult. When I am mid roll Jon will always give me a cute encouraging “you’re doing so well”. I know he is referring to doing well for the pregnancy as a whole, but he always says it when I am rolling which just makes me chuckle.

On Saturday we had the pleasure of visiting Fetal Vision Imaging for a 3D/4D ultrasound. We drove out to Langhorne on the edge of our seats knowing that we were going to 1. confirm that Elzie was all intact and 2. that Elzie was actually Elzie, and not Jamis. After a trip to the restroom (one of about 40 that day) and some light paperwork we got started. Both my parents and Jon’s parents met us there. We went into the “screening room” that was decked out with a super comfy bed for me, a couch and chairs for the guests and several viewing aparatus for the scan. I get in place, the tech squirts the belly down with the warm lube and BAM, there’s our girl! She is perfect and A GIRL for sure. As the tech so eloquently put it, “she has a little hamburger”. That was after of course giving us the more scientific explanation. We all got a good chuckle and sat in amazement as little Elzie rocked out in my belly.

We think she’s pretty great and can’t wait to meet her in just 11 short weeks. The video will be posted as soon as we dork out over here and convert the files.
